My Supports

I have several supports in my life that help me emotional, socially, physically and mentally. The first support I  have is my husband James, who is there for mentally, emotionally and socially. We share daily conversations before and after work. I could not live with the support that he gives me on a daily basis he is the person who I can come home and hare my triumphs and declines in life.

Secondly, I have my children, whom I just sit back and watch and wonder, " was I really like this when I was young" I enjoyed going to games, plays, just sharing quality time with on a daily basis.

Third I have my work family who I get a chance to  share resources and knowledge with. We have learning together and we encourage each other to learn more about the field of early childhood education.

Fourth, I have my technical supports such as a alarm clock, Ipad, IPhone, kindle, planner, laptop without these item my life would be very chaotic because I depend so closely upon them to stay organized, on time, and well prepared which enable me to stay upon of my daily routines, meetings and personal business.

Lastly I have my sorority sister, they help me socially by having girls night out, church, prayer groups and telling me the truth when I it. All of the supports are needed in my life to have a life that full of love, attention and affection. My life without these supports would be chaotic, depressed and miserable because each of these support help me on a daily basis and is needed in my life. I cannot image life without any of  support and  I know my husband and kids cannot imagine life with me because we need each other for love, and support.

  1. I did not think of the technical devices as supports but after reading you blog, it has made me realize how much I do rely on them. I forgot my phone and planner at home one day when I was at work so I had to drive back because I depend on them so much. What would you do in this situation?
Reading your blog reminds me how much humans need the company of others to support us as well as the need for us to give encouragement in return to maintain healthy support systems. You are blessed to have your family and sorority sister to keep you sane. Sounds like a great support team. I would also feel lost without my family and other loved ones in my life.

  2. That’s so funny, I read your post and I realized that I didnt think about the technical supports and then I went to comment and saw that Frank noticed the same thing. I say it often, "What did we do before cell phones?" It's funny to see how our society relies so much on the support of our cell phones and other pieces of technology. I often hear my employees tell me that they were late because their phone died and so their alarm didn’t go off.

  4. Hello Debra,

Of course, you post is the only post that I have read so far that mentions the technical support, that included the laptops, the iphones, and other high tech communication products as supports that we depend on daily. I totally did not even think to go that route. So good thinking, that you thought outside of the box. Furthermore, its good that you have such a strong and valuable support team.
