The research simulation allowed me the opportunity to look the topic and subtopics and began to research the area. I learned from the research simulation that research is important and that the topic must narrowed down in order to be measured. The topic I chose to research is cognitive development in children birth to three years of age. The subtopics chosen include the difference in cognitive development in boys and girls, how does cognitive development affect language development in children, and does technology improve cognitive skills.
I would like ask if anyone have any advice or insight about the topic that can assist me in the upcoming weeks. During the research I have chose the subtopic of what is the difference in cognitive development in boys and girls. I looked at this because I see that in some cases learn certain things different from boys and I wanted to know more that information. Over the past two weeks, I have learned how to evaluate websites, conduct good research by using the "practical guide to reading research articles" which is a great tool. I will continue to use the information learned to help me in the research process.
Hi Debra,
ReplyDeleteYour subtopic you choose about the difference in cognitive development in boys and girls is very interesting. From my experience as a teacher sometimes I see that boy's preference to learn and play is different than the girls. Maybe the observation will play a big role if you want to conduct the research in this topic.
Hopefully you will find a great resources to support your topic and I wish you good luck always.

Hey Debra,
ReplyDeleteI like your subtopic and I wish you good luck on finding sources and information about this topic. The subtopic seems very clear and it seems like you are making strides in this project.
Debra,
DeleteYour research topic is a very interesting one to me. I would love to read your results. With any research we do for early childhood, I am sure it will help improve some skill or development for the child in this field. Good luck on your research.
Sandra
Great Topic enjoyed reading your insights on this look foward to reading more.
ReplyDeleteI like your research topic; it is something that interests me a lot as well. I have five nieces that I have watched grow up and then I have a son. I observed the way my nieces interact and learn and what their interests are and would compare that to my sons. I noticed so many differences that I began to look into how boys and girls learn differently. I wanted to know how and when was best to "teach" my son and I found lots of interesting and helpful information. Some of the books I read, that may have information that pertains to your study were, "The Minds of Boys, Saving Our Sons from Falling Behind in School and Life" by Michael Gurian and I also read "Boys and Girls Learn Differently" by the same author.
